NOT A BIG DEAL
OH WAIT ACTUALLY
“Dim All the Lights,” Donna Summer
There are few bands I like in their entirety, because I mostly listen to singles. But the Beastie Boys was one of the first bands I liked, and one of the only bands I continued to like, even during the Great Music Drought of 2000-2005. Also, finding someone who was really into them during freshmen orientation gave me a good way to gauge whether or not I’d like a person. Like the Community of music.
“Sabotage” is my favorite music video. It’s a parody on 70s cop dramas, and perfectly so. These guys just knew how to have fun and tell a story.
MCA did so much for entertainment, both musically and film-wise, and all from doing whatever the hell he wanted. Both the Beastie Boys and Oscilloscope have such distinctive brand images, and it’s because the B.B. are a band of undeniably-best friends, something so evident in their work, and something to really take to heart. That you can be yourself with your friends and execute a bunch of stupid ideas that are actually great ideas when you commit to them.
Ooh goddamn! So talented.

Hey Everyone, you ready to feel good and spread that feeling?
Well I’ve attached Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger”, and you are going to TURN YOUR VOLUME UP, hit play and then dance and feel good. REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU ARE.
Are you at work? Do it, and make everyone around you dance.
Are you at home in bed crying? DO it, and make yourself feel better and dance.
Are you walking on the street? Find a safe spot, DO it and make yourself feel better because you are having a good time while everyone stares at you.
Are you driving? Goodbye you are dead, and its you’re fault.
WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES A FIGHTER!
Reblog and lets make the world feel better today, even if its just for 3 minutes and 41 seconds.
Yes.
It’s been too long, people. (And Kanye doesn’t count.)
July 18. Roseland Ballroom. Me, Patten, Winston and Dru have never been more excited for a Phil Phriday Phield Trip. Stickles, you might have to fly in for this one.
LOOK AT THIS LINEUP. I hate concerts, but am excited as hell for this.
Man I hope they just do their old stuff.
To be continued …
Oh no, Davy Jones.
